As followers of Christ, we believe it is our responsibility to carry out the original calling Jesus placed on His church: to "go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you" (Matthew 28:19-20). Anything else we do, no matter how good the intentions are, is meaningless.
Part of this process is as Jesus commands Peter in John 21:15, 16, 17 when, three times, He says "...feed my sheep." There are many ways through which we can further the Kingdom of God. The most effective ways we see throughout the Bible, however, are through serving the community and developing relationships with those around us - not only meeting their immediate needs, but also their spiritual needs by teaching them the good news of Jesus Christ and what it means to follow Him.
We believe this is our purpose - to bring hope to the hopeless, and light into dark places. To meet people right where they are. We exist to make disciples and build the kingdom of God - one person and one family at a time.
